My research activities focus on studying the interactions between drugs and secondary nucleic acids including G-quadruplex and triplex DNA. The goals of research are to develop novel human telomerase inhibitors for cancer treatment and anti-gene enhancers for sequence-specifically targeting genes. Ongoing projects combine areas of synthetic organic chemistry, biochemistry, and bioanalytical chemistry.
